Sarah has four children ranging in age from 14 years old to 8 months old. She grew up in a family that breastfed and expected that to be the case for her too. She was separated from her first three children, and dealt with mild and more unsettling health problems in her newborns. It wasn’t until her fourth child was born that she had that quintessential experience of bringing a baby right to the chest for skin-to-skin contact and snuggles that most of us dream of. Despite these challenges, and some medical challenges she herself faced in the early postpartum periods, she was able to breastfed her first three children into toddlerhood (despite some negative feedback from friends and family members) and plans to do the same with her fourth baby too.
